On May 23, 2024, the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Russia and the World: Dialogues – 2024. Forces of Attraction", organized by the National Research Institute for the Development of Communications was held. The event was attended by representatives of the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Duma, the Federation Council, embassies of foreign countries, heads of academic institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as leading Russian and foreign scientists and experts.
As part of the conference, one of the goals of which is to develop recommendations and proposals for the enrichment of international dialogue and trust, Director General Dmitry Grigoriev and KOMIB specialists held an expert discussion on "Factors of sovereignty and subjectivity of states in the modern world." The key topic of the discussion was the problem of preserving sovereignty in the information space.

Representatives of government agencies, business, academia, and non-profit organizations from Russia and the CIS countries took part in the discussion. Opening the discussion, Dmitry Grigoriev noted: "... Today, the issue of defining and ensuring sovereignty has acquired a completely new meaning. Over the past two years, Russian business has not only found itself in a "legal vacuum", it has been forced to fend off a multiplying number of cyber attacks, including on the country's critically important infrastructure. And Russian business has survived, moving to a qualitatively new level in the field of information security."
The participants agreed that special importance should be given to creating a system for exporting to friendly countries the acquired experience and competencies in the field of information security, embodied in specific technologies and practices. It was emphasized that the active interest of partner states not only in acquiring information security products, but also in launching educational programs for local specialists, gives relevance to this area of international cooperation.

At the end of the discussion, the Director General of KOMIB once again drew attention to the need to preserve and develop cooperation between the state, business and the scientific community in solving the tasks of ensuring Russia's subjectivity and sovereignty in the current difficult geopolitical situation.
KOMIB will continue to assist partners in the implementation of this initiative.
